Tile & Grout Cleaning

Remove buildup from tile and grout surfaces.

Questions We Get

Tile and grout cleaning questions

This is the question worth answering before anything else, and it is why we inspect first. Grout is porous, so most discoloration is soil held in the surface and it cleans out. But grout that has absorbed dye, been damaged by harsh acidic cleaners, or simply worn thin will not return to its original color no matter what is used on it. In that case the honest answer is color sealing or regrouting, not more cleaning.
Usually yes. Cleaning opens up the pores it just cleared, and sealing slows down how fast soil gets back in. It is most worth doing on floors, showers, and kitchen backsplashes. Sealer wears and is not permanent, so plan on repeating it.
Stone needs a different approach than ceramic or porcelain. Marble, travertine, slate, and other stone can be etched by acidic cleaners that are perfectly fine on ceramic. Tell us what you have and we will evaluate it before service rather than treating it as tile.
We check for that during the inspection. Cleaning a floor with failing grout or loose tile can force water underneath, which turns a cosmetic problem into a repair. If we find it, we point it out before we start.
Tile itself dries quickly, usually within a couple of hours. If we seal the grout, that needs longer to cure and we will give you a specific window before we leave.
